The Challenge: A NYC developer approached us with a complex branding task: unite three historic Chelsea buildings under one brand identity, despite their separate locations and unique addresses within the neighborhood.

The Strategy: Through comprehensive brand exploration, we aimed to:

  • Create a unifying name that would transcend physical location

  • Capture Chelsea's youthful energy

  • Establish a flexible naming system for individual properties

  • Honor the neighborhood's historic character


The Execution: We developed "Chelsea Crossing" as the master brand, drawing inspiration from:

  • The Hudson River's dynamic flow

  • The neighborhood's evolution and progress

  • Chelsea's historical significance

  • The concept of movement and connectivity

The solution included a modular naming system using address-based modifiers, allowing each building to maintain its individual identity while clearly belonging to the larger brand family.

The Impact: The naming and branding strategy succeeded in:

  1. Gaining immediate client approval

  2. Creating a scalable visual identity system as the developer purchases more properties in the immediate vacinity

  3. Providing a comprehensive brand framework for the client's internal marketing team
